Supermarket trip

Today we walked down to the supermarket. On the way there we got tired and some people were skipping and others were walking.

• We got to see dough being made and then we got to hold some. 
• We saw how to make french sticks and then where the bread went for rising.
• The overs were huge and very hot.
• They used a huge mixing machine for the dough
• We could feel the heat from the oven,When the oven was opened we could see trays spinning around.
• There were french sticks, buns, white and brown bread.
• The trays in the oven automatically spun around and there was a button to spray steam on top of the bread to make it shine.
• The dough felt like squishy play dough and a soft pillow.

What do you predict this video will be about?   

 a fish that barks, a fish that thinks, facts about the fish, might be a fish with hiccups, a fish that talks, fast swimming fish, it eats other fish, has 4 fins       

How did the music make you feel?  

frightening music, suspicious about the fish, felt a bit tense, made me think the fish was horrid, scared, excited, feel funny, feel what is going to happen now?, don't know what will happen, strange 

Why do you think they pick music like that?  

because they wanted people to wonder and people to think what will happen, makes it more interesting, the music went slow when the cat was moving slow and then when the cat got faster the music got faster, music made you think something bad might happen, music to make you a wee bit scared, music to sound like the animals were moving, to make us wonder, sneaky music.  

Were our predictions close, correct or completely wrong?    CORRECT - a fish that barks, fish that thinks, fast swimming, fins 
CLOSE - fish that talks ( noise)  
NOT QUITE CORRECT- facts about fish, eats other fish, fish with hiccups     

What was surprising?  

when the fish barked, that the fish didn't get eaten, the fish scared the cat away, fish was waiting for the cat to put his head in, the cat didn't know what was going to happen, the creepy music and the way it made us feel 
       

 What was funny?  

the music, the cat running away, fish barking, cat getting a fright, cat putting his head in the bowl, most of it

Train clearing the tracks between West Coast and Christchurch

Today we didn't start school until 11 o'clock. We made some tricky snowflakes by folding paper ( not finished yet) and we begun writing snow poems.
The best part of the day was when we were FINALLY allowed outside at the end of the day. We went out on the field and had a SNOWBALL FIGHT :) lots of year 5,6,7 and 8 children were out playing with us as well.
I don't know why but lots of children seemed to be throwing lots of snowballs at the teachers.... naughty children !!!!! :)

Friday is the last day our lovely Georgia will be in Room 19. We are very sad Georgia is leaving us, but we know she will have a great time at her new school and will make lots of lovely new friends. Georgia is always happy and smiling and a great friend to everyone.
