Welcome back to term 3

Welcome back to term 3 everyone, I hope you have had a fabulous holiday.

There have been a few changes over the holidays -

  • Art Gallery visit from Susie. We will be using clay this time
  • A trip to _________________. This will be so exciting, I cant wait.

  • Using the touch table
  • Participating in "Flick it on"
  • Made Awards???
  • Enjoying our new furniture

Modern Classrooms

A short video on new MLE classrooms. Some of the furniture is similar to what we have to trial, I LOVE the orange stools.

Official opening of the Registry building at the Arts Centre.

Y

Yesterday children from last years Room 19 were invited to attend the official opening of the Registry building at the Arts Centre. It was a huge honor to be invited and the children, as always, did the school proud with their behaviour and thoughtfulness.
Ella Clark was selected to represent Halswell School as one of the two people who unlocked the door to reopen the building.
Last year Room 19 painted huge murals about their memories of the Art Centre. These are still up in the Art Centre and are well worth a trip in just to see them.

Book Reviews

This week one group has been writing short book reviews. We had to think about-
  •  speaking clearly
  • not talking too fast
  •  holding the book so everyone could see the pictures
  •  giving our opinions
  •  not giving away too much about the story line
  • who our audience is
  • looking at the camera
  •  sit still

ACTIVE workers

The room 19 surprise

Sorry kids, our surprise things ( we will keep it a secret) isn't happening till next Tuesday. It will still happen but the truck can't unload until then.

Things are finally starting to happen with our new school build

We were allowed to sneak in to the building area. We saw where the year 5/6 building will be.
The contractors are making a shingle road for the trucks. They are also starting to dig holes for drainage.
