9-9 Skyping today

Today we were part of a Skype marathon.
The things we found out-

• ·         Great opportunity for us and its amazing we got to join in
• ·         Their community was similar to ours
• ·         Playground on the roof
• ·         12 people in their class and there school is 10 yrs old
• ·         Connection wasn’t very clear
• ·         Creative thinking
• ·         Liked the subject about community
• ·         Their community ( country) is bigger than ours
• ·         Not many schools  in NZ got to skype
• ·         5A was very organised
• ·         Both classes learned new information
• ·         They worked together to ask questions and we worked together to answer their questions
• ·         So much to learn about community
• ·        They Showed us pictures.
• ·         5A formed a new skype community
• ·         They have some of the same sports as us
• ·         They don’t know how to play netball
• ·         We liked the same foods
• ·         5A came up with very good questions and we had to think about the answers
• ·         We have had similar experiences with disasters hurricane / earthquake

We made Juggling balls. We used, 2 balloons and rice. It was a bit tricky but we managed to get most of the rice into the balloons.

PLEDGE

 This we will be doing a fundraising event for World Vision. We are asking the children to pledge to give up one of their ‘wants’ for the week (e.g. TV, lollies, electronic toys, fizzy drinks) and to raise sponsorship to do this.

For our Quad Blogging Buddies

Today we tried out a new app called Panorama. We have taken some photos from around our school to show you what it looks like.
At the moment our school is squished into 1/4 of our grounds because we are getting a brand new school built. How exciting for us.

This is the adventure playground and field area - our only playground at the moment.

Magic Finger Lights

This term we have red, white, blue and green LED finger lights to help us focus on our proof reading during writing time.  
Soon we will be fantastic proof readers :)
